François Nouvion

François is an experienced international tax lawyer.

As a member of the Paris Bar, François has over 20 years' experience and has worked for international firms such as Arthur Andersen and Deloitte, in France and Africa.

He is a skilled international tax expert and works equally well in French, English and Spanish. He has specific experience in tax and legal assistance for international investments in Africa, particularly in the energy, engineering and construction sectors. He has also developed a practice in tax audits and litigation.

François is a member of the Institut des Avocats Conseils Fiscaux (IACF) and the Association of International Petroleum Negotiators (AIPN). He is also a lecturer in taxation at the Sorbonne University and the author of numerous articles on international taxation.

  • Lead tax adviser in the buyout of a subsidiary of a Gabonese oil company by a British junior oil company controlled by an American fund - deal value USD 628 million
  • Tax advice to a British junior oil company on a major fund-raising project in the United States - deal value USD 400 million
  • Tax advice on the acquisition of a French oil group by an Asian group - valuation of €822 million
  • Assistance with a tax audit – basic stake €2.3 million - and ongoing litigation before the Conseil d'Etat on behalf of a UK private equity firm
